People are becoming more reluctant to take prescription drugs for things like urinary tract infections. Antibiotics build up to the point where our bodies resist them and then no longer work. There are also unhealthy side effects that come with prescription drugs.

Naturally, this is leading more people to search for home remedies. Butterbur is an herb that can help relieve bladder problems without relying on an antibiotic. Of course, healthy habits that prevent urinary tract infections and other bladder problems are recommended. Early detection and treatment are in order when the bladder is not functioning well though.

  • asked on Sat, 26 Feb, 2011
I don't have "UTI" (Urinary Tract infection) But i have symptoms of it. My doctors tested me many times, Im getting an ultra sound soon as well to try and fix it, Ive been on antibiotics everything nothing seems to get rid of this pain? Any remedies you know to get rid of a burning pain after going to the toilet? How to help that pain before it occurs? Thanks!

To get rid of a UTI, you can drink cranberry juice. However, vaginal infections and UTIs can also cause a burning sensation when urinating so you might want to be tested for others things.

This is a bit rough for the faint at heart. I had pain when urinating and blood in my urine indicative of a UTI. So this is what I did. With treatments morning and evening of the day. In the morning I filled a bowl of clean hot water as hot as I could put on my hand without burning. Approximately 1 quart of hot water. Then I took a bulb syringe and injected it into my hurting empty bladder. It burned going in like my pee did coming out. When my bladder was full I emptied it back out. And repeated this till I used up the hot water for that morning treatment. In the evening I did the same. It was still painful but not as bad. The next morning on the third treatment of hot water it hurt almost not at all. And by the end of the second day the UTI was gone.

Have a glass of warm water ready. When you need to urinate, pour the water over the area while you are urinating. I have also noticed that peeing, while in a shower with warm water helps as well. There are medications that your doctor can prescribe to help this burning sensation, if home remedies don't work.
